No device exists in isolation and no matter how feature-rich an offering from the manufacturer is, the real power of a device comes from availability of third party applications. Windows Mobile and Symbian OS have armies of devoted developers and thousands of third party applications exist for devices based on the above mentioned operating systems. Even though, iPhone is the youngest device and the Apple's App Store has been functioning for six months only, the store has passed a 10,000 applications mark. Wow!
Picking ten awesome applications out of more than ten thousand is not an easy task and I believe all of us have our top-ten lists.
Folks at Wired.com have prepared a very interesting list of applications really deserving to be among the 10 most awesome apps of 2008.
